Accessibility Statement

RV-Roundup.com is for every RVer. We want everyone to be able to find parks, places to eat, things to do and road-tested tips on this site, including people who use assistive technology.

Our commitment

RV-Roundup.com is an independent travel guide for RVers. We are committed to making our website usable by as many people as possible, regardless of disability, device or the technology they use to browse. Accessibility is part of how we plan, write, design and publish every page, not a one-time project.

We know the RV community includes travelers with low vision, blindness, hearing loss, limited mobility or dexterity, and cognitive or learning differences, along with many people who simply read on a small phone screen in bright sunlight at a campsite. We design with all of them in mind.

Conformance status

We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 as our standard. These guidelines, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), explain how to make web content more accessible to people with disabilities. Our goal is to conform to WCAG 2.2 at Level AA.

RV-Roundup.com is currently partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. That means most of the site meets the standard, but some content does not yet fully conform. The areas we know about are listed under Known limitations, and we are working to improve them.

What we do to make the site accessible

We take the following steps across the site:

Structure and navigation

  • A “Skip to content” link at the top of every page so keyboard and screen reader users can bypass the main menu.
  • A logical heading order on each page, so content can be scanned and navigated by heading.
  • Menus, links, buttons and forms that can be reached and used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator.
  • Consistent navigation and page layouts across the site, plus a search tool and a sitemap.

Content and design

  • Descriptive alternative text for meaningful images, and empty alt text for purely decorative ones.
  • Descriptive link text that makes sense out of context, rather than “click here.”
  • Text and interface colors chosen to meet WCAG contrast requirements.
  • Information that is never conveyed by color alone.
  • Responsive layouts that work on phones, tablets and desktops, and that support zooming text up to 200 percent without losing content.
  • Plain, practical language, short paragraphs and clear labels.

Media

  • No audio that plays automatically.
  • Embedded videos that can be paused and controlled by the user. Where the video provider offers captions, they can be turned on in the player.

Our process

  • Accessibility checks are part of our publishing checklist for new and updated pages.
  • We review older content over time and fix issues as we find them.
  • We consider accessibility when choosing themes, plugins and other tools for the site.

Browser and assistive technology compatibility

RV-Roundup.com is designed to work with:

  • Current versions of major browsers, including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari and Microsoft Edge.
  • Common screen readers, including NVDA and JAWS on Windows, VoiceOver on macOS and iOS, and TalkBack on Android.
  • Built-in browser and operating system tools such as zoom, text resizing, high-contrast modes and reduced motion settings.

The site relies on HTML, CSS, JavaScript and WAI-ARIA to work with your browser and any assistive technology you use. It is not designed for very old browsers or for browsers with JavaScript turned off, though most text content will still be readable.

Known limitations

Despite our efforts, some parts of the site may not yet be fully accessible. Known issues include:

  • Older pages and images. Some content published before our current standards may have missing or incomplete alternative text or headings. We are reviewing and updating these pages.
  • Photos from parks and partners. Images shared with permission by RV parks, restaurants and attractions may contain text, such as signs or menus, that is not fully described in the alt text.
  • Embedded maps. Interactive maps can be hard to use with a keyboard or screen reader. Wherever we show a map, we also give the address or location details in text.
  • Embedded videos. Videos from third-party platforms may not include accurate captions or audio description, which we cannot always control.
  • Third-party widgets. Features such as review displays come from outside providers and may not meet every WCAG requirement.

If you run into a barrier that is not listed here, please let us know.

Third-party content and external links

RV-Roundup.com links to and embeds content from other websites, including RV park and business websites, booking platforms, mapping and video services, and retailers such as Amazon through our affiliate links. We do not control those sites and cannot guarantee their accessibility. If you have trouble using a third-party site, we encourage you to contact that site’s owner directly. We also welcome hearing about it, because it helps us decide which resources to recommend.

Accessibility at RV parks and businesses

This statement covers the accessibility of our website. It does not describe the physical accessibility of the RV parks, campgrounds, restaurants, attractions or trails we feature.

When we know about accessible campsites, restrooms, paved paths or other features, we try to include them on the relevant page. However, facilities, rules and conditions change, and we cannot verify every detail. If you have specific accessibility needs, please contact the park or business directly before you travel to confirm what is available.

How we test

We assess the accessibility of RV-Roundup.com through self-evaluation. Our approach combines:

  • Automated accessibility checks to catch common issues such as missing alt text, low contrast and empty links.
  • Manual keyboard-only testing of navigation, menus, links and interactive features.
  • Spot checks with screen readers and browser zoom on desktop and mobile devices.
  • Feedback from visitors, which we treat as a high priority.

Feedback and requesting help

We welcome your feedback on the accessibility of RV-Roundup.com. If you have trouble accessing any page or content, or you need information from the site in a different format, please tell us. We will work with you to provide the information you need.

A dedicated accessibility contact is coming soon and will be listed here.

When you contact us, these details help us find and fix the problem faster:

  1. The web address (URL) of the page where you had trouble.
  2. A short description of the problem, and what you were trying to do.
  3. The browser and device you were using, and any assistive technology, such as a screen reader or magnifier.

We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within five business days. If a fix will take longer, we will let you know and, where possible, offer another way to get the information you need in the meantime.

Updates to this statement

We review this accessibility statement regularly and update it as the site changes and as we fix known issues. This statement was last reviewed on October 31, 2026.
