A British show that treats motorhomes the way car podcasts treat cars: industry news, new models, buying advice and honest opinions. RV Unpacked

Hosts: Camping World · About every two weeks · Latest episode July 29, 2026 (checked October 3, 2026)

Camping World’s current podcast (its older Stories from the Road show is no longer listed) is about what is new in RVing: model-year previews, trends and travel tips from the country’s biggest RV retailer. It is a brand show, so treat it as a preview rather than an independent review, but the July 29, 2026 episode’s sneak peek at 2027 models is a handy primer before a dealer visit.

What we like

  • Early looks at upcoming model years
  • A quick primer on RV trends before you shop

Keep in mind

  • Made by a retailer, so not independent reviews
  • No new episode since July 29, 2026 when we checked

  • Weekly, with more than 375 episodes
  • Gadget and maintenance tips

Keep in mind

  • Review episodes matter most if you are shopping

Best for: RV shoppers and owners who like to tinker

Every 2 weeks DIY Maintenance

The Smart RVer podcast cover art

Best for DIY repairs

The Smart RVer

Hosts: Eric Stark · About every two weeks · Latest episode September 25, 2026 (checked October 3, 2026)

Eric Stark keeps each episode focused on one job you can do yourself, from tires and roofs to water heaters, batteries and slide-outs, in a format built for RV owners rather than technicians. The September 25, 2026 episode on furnace problems (maintain, repair or replace?) landed just in time for heating season. With more than 200 episodes, it is a free maintenance library.

What we like

  • One repair topic per episode, easy to search
  • More than 200 episodes
  • Can save you a trip to the service bay

Keep in mind

  • Audio can’t replace your owner’s manual; check model-specific steps

What we like

  • 258 episodes on RV tech and lifestyle
  • Calm, unhurried pace

Keep in mind

  • Monthly, so new episodes are slow to arrive

Best for: Owners who want to understand their RV’s systems

No signal? No problem

How to listen to podcasts offline on the road

Cell coverage disappears fast in national parks and on back roads. Set this up once and your shows are always ready.

Step 1: Follow

Follow your shows

Tap Follow (or Subscribe) on each podcast in Apple Podcasts, Spotify or your favorite app so new episodes land in your library automatically.

Step 2: Download

Turn on auto-downloads

In the app’s settings, set followed shows to download new episodes automatically, and choose Wi-Fi only so you don’t burn through your data plan.

Step 3: Drive

Load up before you leave

Grab a few episodes on campground Wi-Fi or in town before you head into the mountains or the desert. Downloaded episodes play with zero signal.

Data-saving tip

A typical hour of podcast audio is a much smaller download than an hour of video, so a week of shows fits on almost any phone. If storage runs low, tell your app to delete episodes after you finish them.

Listening gear

Gear for listening to podcasts in your RV

Six small, inexpensive add-ons that get podcasts playing in any rig, from a 1990s motorhome to the campsite picnic table.

RV-Roundup earns a small commission from qualifying Amazon purchases, at no extra cost to you. How this works.

12V socket Bluetooth

LENCENT Bluetooth FM transmitter with a blue LED frequency display and two USB charging ports

Best for older RVs

LENCENT Bluetooth FM Transmitter

Plugs into a 12V outlet · Plays through any FM radio · USB charging ports

No Bluetooth or aux jack in the dash? This little adapter pairs with your phone and broadcasts to an empty FM station, so podcasts play through the RV or tow vehicle’s own speakers. It also charges your phone while you drive.

What we like

  • Works with almost any radio
  • Charges your phone at the same time

Keep in mind

  • FM can pick up static near big cities; pick an empty frequency

Best for: Older motorhomes and tow vehicles

3.5mm aux Bluetooth 5.4

UGREEN Bluetooth 5.4 aux car adapter with a 3.5mm aux plug and USB power cable

Best if you have an aux jack

UGREEN Bluetooth 5.4 Aux Car Adapter

Plugs into a 3.5mm aux jack · Built-in mic for hands-free calls

If your dash has a 3.5mm aux input, a Bluetooth receiver gives cleaner, static-free sound than FM, which matters on empty desert highways where stations drift. Pair once and podcasts start playing whenever you climb in.

What we like

  • Cleaner sound than an FM transmitter
  • Hands-free calls

Keep in mind

  • Needs an aux jack and a USB port for power

Best for: Rigs with an aux input but no Bluetooth

Dash or windshield

iOttie Easy One Touch 5 dash and windshield phone mount with telescoping arm and suction base

Best phone mount

iOttie Easy One Touch 5 Dash & Windshield Mount

Telescoping arm · One-touch clamp · Suction-cup base

Big RV dashboards put your phone a long reach away. The telescoping arm brings podcast controls and navigation into easy view, and the one-touch clamp makes it simple to grab the phone at fuel stops.

What we like

  • Telescoping arm reaches across wide dashes
  • Quick one-hand phone release

Keep in mind

  • Some states limit windshield mounts; a dash spot avoids that

Best for: Drivers who use their phone for audio and navigation

IP68 Bluetooth

JBL Flip 7 portable waterproof Bluetooth speaker in blue

Best campsite speaker

JBL Flip 7 Portable Waterproof Speaker

Waterproof and dustproof (IP68) · Drop-resistant · Portable

Keep the episode going at the picnic table or around the campfire. The Flip 7 is rated IP68 for water and dust, shrugs off drops, and has clear midrange that makes voices easy to follow outdoors.

What we like

  • Rated IP68 for water and dust
  • Rugged, easy to carry

Keep in mind

  • The priciest pick here; keep the volume campground-friendly

Best for: Listening outside at camp

Open-ear Bluetooth

Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 open-ear headphones in black

Best for camp chores

Shokz OpenRun Pro 2 Open-Ear Headphones

Open-ear design · Sweat-resistant · Wireless

Open-ear headphones leave your ears uncovered, so you can hear a spotter, traffic or a neighbor while you finish a podcast during hookups, dog walks or the dump-station line.

What we like

  • Stay aware of what is around you
  • Comfortable for long walks

Keep in mind

  • Never wear them while driving; many states restrict it

Best for: Walks, hookups and chores around camp

2 USB-C ports 12V

Anker 40W two-port USB-C car charger

Best car charger

Anker 40W 2-Port USB-C Car Charger

Two USB-C ports · Plugs into a 12V outlet

Streaming and navigating all day drains a phone fast. Two USB-C ports keep the phone topped up and leave a spare for headphones, a speaker or the co-pilot’s tablet.

What we like

  • Two fast USB-C ports
  • Small enough to leave plugged in

Keep in mind

  • You will need USB-C cables

Best for: Every rig and tow vehicle

Helpful answers

RV podcast questions, answered

What RVers ask us most about podcasts and listening on the road.

For most RVers it is the RV Miles Podcast: a weekly show on RV news, destinations and reviews from a full-time RV family, with short news updates in between. Add The RV Atlas for trip planning and The Smart RVer or StressLess Camping for maintenance and reviews.

Yes. Every podcast on this page is free to listen to in Apple Podcasts and most other podcast apps; you only need Wi-Fi or data to stream or download episodes.

Download episodes before you lose signal. Follow the show in your podcast app, turn on automatic downloads, and grab a few episodes over campground Wi-Fi or a strong signal before you leave town. Downloaded episodes play offline. See our three-step offline setup.

If the dash has a 3.5mm aux jack, use a Bluetooth aux adapter for the cleanest sound. If it has no aux jack, a Bluetooth FM transmitter plugs into the 12V socket and plays your phone through the radio. Both are in our listening gear picks.

Start with The RV Atlas for friendly trip and campground advice, StressLess Camping for RV reviews before you buy, and The Smart RVer once you own a rig and want to handle basic maintenance yourself.

Yes. Gaze At the National Parks covers one park at a time, Dear Bob and Sue shares itineraries from a couple who set out to visit every park, and National Park After Dark tells true stories from parks and public lands. RV Miles also posts national park news.

The RV Entrepreneur ended its weekly show with a finale episode in November 2025. Its segment continues inside the RV LIFE Podcast, and the full back catalog is still available in podcast apps.

No. Many states restrict or ban wearing headphones while driving, and you need to hear traffic and emergency vehicles. Play podcasts through the RV’s speakers with a Bluetooth or FM adapter instead, and save headphones for walks and chores at camp.

How we chose. We started from the 40-plus shows on our 2024 RV podcast list, checked every one on Apple Podcasts on October 3, 2026, and kept only shows that posted a new episode in roughly the last three months. We then added a few active national park, camping and overlanding shows that suit life on the road. Episode counts and dates come from each show’s public listing and change every week.
