Shelf 1 of 3 · Card games

Best card games for RVs: small boxes, big fun

Four card games that fit in a drawer and play on any surface, from a dinette table to a picnic table.

Card game 2–10 players

UNO card game box and cards

#1 · Best overall for RVs

UNO Card Game

Mattel · Ages 7+ · About 30 minutes · 4.8 stars from 61,100 Amazon ratings

If you pack just one game, make it UNO. The deck fits in a drawer or the glove box, almost everyone from a 7-year-old to Grandpa already knows the rules, and it plays just as well on a dinette table as on a picnic table. It handles up to 10 players, so it works for a whole campground circle, and the three blank wild cards let your family write its own house rules.

What we like

  • Tiny box, no board to set up
  • Plays 2 to 10, ages 7 and up
  • Most people already know how to play

Keep in mind

  • Long rounds with a big group
  • Easy to lose a card or two over a season

Best for: Every RV and every trip

Card game 2–8 players

Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza card game box

#2 · Best for quick laughs

Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza

Dolphin Hat Games · Ages 7+ · About 10–15 minutes · 4.8 stars from 55,051 Amazon ratings

A fast slap game: players flip cards while chanting “taco, cat, goat, cheese, pizza,” and when the word matches the card, everyone slaps the pile. The rules take a minute to learn, a round takes a few more, and kids can beat adults. It is the game children ask for again and again on rainy afternoons, and the little box tucks into any drawer.

What we like

  • Learn it in a minute
  • Kids can win against adults
  • Great for short rainy-day breaks

Keep in mind

  • Loud for thin RV walls during quiet hours
  • Slapping can get rough with little ones

Best for: Families with kids 7 and up

Card game 2–5 players

Monopoly Deal card game box

#3 · Best Monopoly without the board

Monopoly Deal Card Game

Hasbro Gaming · Ages 8+ · About 15 minutes · 4.8 stars from 36,658 Amazon ratings

All the property trading and rent collecting of Monopoly, squeezed into a deck of cards and about 15 minutes. There is no board, no money tray and no tiny hotels to lose under the dinette cushions. The first player to collect three full property sets wins, so unlike the board game, it actually ends before bedtime.

What we like

  • Real strategy in a pocket-size box
  • Games finish in about 15 minutes
  • No small pieces to lose

Keep in mind

  • The action cards take a round to learn
  • Best with 3 or more players

Best for: Monopoly fans who hate how long Monopoly takes

Card game New hit

Flip 7 card game box

#4 · Best new card game

Flip 7 Card Game

The Op Games · 3+ players · Ages 8+ · About 20 minutes · 4.9 stars from 5,833 Amazon ratings

The newest hit here, and one of the highest rated: a press-your-luck game where you keep flipping number cards and try not to get the same number twice. Stop early to bank your points, or push on for a big Flip 7 bonus. It takes about two minutes to teach, kids pick it up fast, and adults keep saying “one more round.”

What we like

  • 4.9 stars, tied for the top rating on this list
  • Teaches in about two minutes
  • Plays well with big groups

Keep in mind

  • Newer, with fewer reviews than the classics
  • Luck plays a big part

Best for: Groups that want something new

Pack light

Card games give you the most fun per inch of storage. Keep two or three in a zip-top bag in the same drawer, and a rainy afternoon is always covered.

Shelf 2 of 3 · Table games

Best board and tile games for an RV dinette

Four games with a little more strategy that still fit a small table and a small cabinet.

Board game 2–12 players

Sequence in a Tin game tin

#5 · Best board game for small tables

Sequence in a Tin

Jax · Ages 7+ · About 30 minutes · 4.8 stars from 6,377 Amazon ratings

Sequence mixes cards and a board: play a card, put a chip on the matching space and try to make five in a row before the other team. This edition keeps the board, cards and chips together in a sturdy tin, which is exactly what you want in a cabinet that gets bounced down the highway. Play one on one, or split into teams for up to 12.

What we like

  • Sturdy tin keeps everything together
  • Easy for kids, still tactical for adults
  • Teams make it work for big groups

Keep in mind

  • Chips can slide on a bumpy table
  • Smaller board than the original folding edition

Best for: Couples and family teams

Tile game 2–4 players

Qwirkle game box and wooden tiles

#6 · Best for mixed ages

Qwirkle

MindWare · Ages 6+ · About 45 minutes · 4.8 stars from 18,146 Amazon ratings

Players line up 108 chunky wooden tiles by color or shape, a bit like Scrabble without the words. Six-year-olds can play right alongside adults, the tiles stand up to life on the road, and because there is no board, the game grows to fit whatever table you have. Short on space? MindWare also makes a smaller Travel Qwirkle.

What we like

  • No reading needed
  • Tough wooden tiles
  • No board, so it fits any table

Keep in mind

  • The tile bag adds a little weight
  • Scoring takes a game to learn

Best for: Grandparents and grandkids

Board game 2–5 players

Ticket to Ride board game box

#7 · Best for road-trip lovers

Ticket to Ride (2025 edition)

Days of Wonder · Ages 8+ · 30–60 minutes · 4.9 stars from 666 Amazon ratings for the 2025 edition

Collect train cards and claim rail routes across North America, racing to link cities like Denver and El Paso before someone blocks you. RVers love it because the map looks a lot like their travel plans. This 2025 refresh of the award-winning classic is the biggest box on our list, so it is best for rigs with a full-size dinette.

What we like

  • Award-winning and easy to learn
  • A map road-trippers will love
  • Fills a long rainy evening

Keep in mind

  • Biggest box here; needs a full table
  • Costs more than the card games

Best for: Families with a full-size dinette

Card game 2–5 players

Sushi Go! card game tin

#8 · Best quick strategy game

Sushi Go!

Gamewright · Ages 8+ · About 15 minutes · 4.7 stars from 17,104 Amazon ratings

A pick-and-pass card game: keep one card from your hand, pass the rest and build the best plate of sushi over three rounds. It feels like a “real” strategy game but plays in about 15 minutes, and it comes in a small metal tin that is easy to stash. The art is cute enough for kids, and the scoring keeps adults thinking.

What we like

  • Small tin that travels well
  • Real choices every turn
  • Same length every game

Keep in mind

  • Scoring needs a pen and paper
  • Best with 3 or more

Best for: Players who want strategy in 15 minutes

Small-table tip

Lay a dish towel or a sheet of felt on the dinette before you play. Tiles and chips stop sliding, and nothing rolls under the cushions.

How to plan a great RV game night

Four simple steps that turn a rainy day or a dark evening at camp into everyone’s favorite night of the trip.

1

Pick a game for your group

Just the two of you? Try Sequence in a Tin or Qwirkle. Five or more? Reach for UNO, Happy Salmon or BLANK SLATE.

2

Clear the dinette

Wipe the table, add a towel for grip and keep snacks on the counter so cards stay clean and dry.

3

Mind quiet hours

Save loud slap-and-shout games like Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza for daytime, and switch to Sushi Go! or Ticket to Ride after quiet hours begin.

4

Stow it for travel day

Put game boxes in a zip-top bag or a small bin and wedge them into a cabinet so nothing rattles or spills on the road.

Shelf 3 of 3 · Kids & party

Best indoor games for kids and parties

Fast, funny games for little kids, teens and a full campground crowd.

Card game 2–8 players

Spot It! Classic card game

#9 · Best for young kids

Spot It! Classic

Asmodee · Ages 6+ · About 10 minutes · 4.8 stars from 1,717 Amazon ratings for the 2024 edition

Every pair of round cards shares exactly one matching symbol, and the first player to spot it wins. There are five ways to play in the box, no reading is needed and a game takes about 10 minutes. The pocket-size pack is perfect for the wait at a restaurant, a laundromat or a rainy campsite.

What we like

  • No reading, fun for kids 6 and up
  • Five games in one
  • Tiny and nearly indestructible

Keep in mind

  • Quick players can run away with it
  • Can feel repetitive for adults

Best for: Families with young children

Card game 2–5 players

Exploding Kittens card game box

#10 · Best for tweens and teens

Exploding Kittens

Exploding Kittens · Ages 7+ · About 15 minutes · 4.6 stars from 59,587 Amazon ratings

Draw cards until someone pulls an Exploding Kitten, and use action cards to skip, peek and steal your way to survival. The silly art by The Oatmeal makes kids and teens laugh, a game takes about 15 minutes, and it is one of the most-reviewed card games on Amazon.

What we like

  • Hugely popular with kids and teens
  • Quick and easy to teach
  • Small box

Keep in mind

  • Lowest rating on our list (still 4.6)
  • The humor is silly, not for everyone

Best for: Tweens, teens and their parents

Card game 3–8 players

Happy Salmon card game box

#11 · Best icebreaker

Happy Salmon

Exploding Kittens · Ages 6+ · About 2 minutes a round · 4.8 stars from 4,335 Amazon ratings

Everyone calls out actions at once (high five, pound it, switcheroo, happy salmon) and pairs up to do them. A round lasts about 90 seconds and ends in laughter. It is the perfect way to break the ice with new neighbors at the campground clubhouse, but it is loud and needs a little elbow room.

What we like

  • Kids and adults are on equal footing
  • Teaches in one minute
  • Great with new friends

Keep in mind

  • Loud and active, not for quiet hours
  • Needs at least 3 players

Best for: Groups and campground get-togethers

Party game 3–8 players

BLANK SLATE party game box

#12 · Best party game for adults

BLANK SLATE

The Op Games · Ages 8+ · About 20 minutes · 4.8 stars from 13,525 Amazon ratings

A card shows a phrase with a blank, like “____ cake,” and everyone secretly writes the word they think someone else will write. Match exactly one other player for the most points. There is no trivia to know and no wrong answers, so it works for teens, parents and grandparents at the same table.

What we like

  • Anyone can play, no trivia knowledge
  • Works with 3 to 8 players
  • Lots of laughs over the answers

Keep in mind

  • Bigger box than the card games
  • Needs at least 3 players

Best for: Adults, teens and mixed-age groups

Campground clubhouse

Many RV parks have a clubhouse or rec hall with big tables. Bring a party game like BLANK SLATE or Happy Salmon to game night, and you will make new friends fast.

Helpful answers

Indoor RV games: your questions, answered

What RV families ask us most about playing games in a small space.

Our top pick is UNO, because it fits in a drawer, plays 2 to 10 people and almost everyone knows the rules. Other great RV games are Sequence in a Tin for small tables, Spot It! for young kids and Ticket to Ride for long rainy evenings.

Card games need the least room: UNO, Monopoly Deal, Flip 7 and Spot It! can be played on a small dinette, a bed or even a lap. Qwirkle has no board at all, so it grows to fit whatever table you have.

Sequence in a Tin, Qwirkle, Ticket to Ride and Sushi Go! all work well with two players. Monopoly Deal is also a quick head-to-head game.

Spot It! (ages 6+) needs no reading, and Happy Salmon (6+) is all about movement and laughs. Kids 7 and up love Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza and UNO.

Remove extra cardboard packaging, put small pieces in zip-top bags and keep boxes in a bin or cabinet where they cannot slide. Games that come in tins, like Sequence in a Tin and Sushi Go!, travel best.

Pick one longer game, like Ticket to Ride or Qwirkle, and mix in quick card games between snacks. A mini tournament of UNO or Flip 7 rounds can fill a whole afternoon.

Our top pick

Start with UNO

Tiny, quick to teach and fun for 2 to 10 players. If you pack only one game, pack this one.

As an Amazon Associate, RV-Roundup earns from qualifying purchases. The “See it on Amazon” buttons and game names on this page are affiliate links; if you buy through one, we receive a small commission from Amazon at no additional cost to you. That commission is what keeps this site free.

How we choose. We started with the best-selling and highest-rated games on Amazon and kept those rated 4.6 stars or higher. Most have thousands of ratings; Flip 7, Ticket to Ride (2025 edition) and Spot It! (2024 edition) are newer listings with fewer. Then we favored games that pack small, set up on a small table and work for mixed ages. No company paid to be on this page, and a higher commission never moves a game up the list.
