The short answer
If you want one RV magazine in the mailbox, subscribe to RV Today: $29.99 buys eight print issues plus digital access, and it now contains what used to be Rootless Living and RV Camping Magazine. Pair it with RV Destinations if you want a photo-rich travel quarterly. If you are joining a club anyway, Family RVing (FRVA, $99) and Escapees ($49.95) both include a good magazine, while Wildsam, the old Trailer Life, now comes only with Good Sam Elite. For free reading, GoRV publishes a real monthly issue and I Heart RVing gives away its whole archive.

Print Digital

Best overall
RV Today
Print + digital · 8 issues a year · Digital $9.99/yr, lifetime digital $25, print + digital $29.99/yr (US) or $69.99/yr (Canada) (checked September 28, 2026)
RV Today is the independent, reader-supported magazine that quietly became the biggest general-interest RV title left on newsstands. Publisher Blue Compass Media folded RV Camping Magazine into it in June 2023 and merged its own Rootless Living into it in January 2024, so one subscription now covers weekend campers, snowbirds and full-time nomads. Expect campground and destination features, RV and gear reviews across every rig type, and RVer profiles rather than press-release rewrites. Every plan, even the $9.99 digital one, includes the full RV Camping Magazine back-issue archive.
What we like
- Cheapest print RV magazine we found: 8 issues for $29.99
- All RV types, not just motorhomes
- Includes the RV Camping Magazine digital archive; a $25 lifetime digital plan exists
Keep in mind
- Canadian print is $69.99 a year; digital is the better deal outside the US
- Free sample issue only; there is no ongoing free edition
Best for: Most RVers who want one magazine in the mailbox
Print Digital

Best for travel inspiration
RV Destinations Magazine
Print + digital · Quarterly · Digital $12.99/yr (Zinio and app stores); print and print + digital bundles priced at checkout on rvdestinations.com (checked September 28, 2026)
This is the coffee-table RV magazine: 80 to 100 pages an issue, a handful of ads, and destination stories that run several pages each with photography good enough to plan a trip around. Regular columns cover national and state parks, campground spotlights, an international feature, food tours and photo tips, and the publisher runs a Pathfinder trip-planning tool, a podcast and a YouTube channel alongside it. The Summer 2026 issue was current when we checked.
What we like
- Beautiful, long-form destination features you will keep
- Light on advertising
- Own iOS and Android app plus Zinio
Keep in mind
- Quarterly, so it is inspiration rather than news
- Print pricing is only shown at checkout (about $50 a year in 2024)
Best for: Trip dreamers who want a magazine worth keeping on the shelf
Print Digital

Best brand magazine
Airstream Life
Print + digital · Quarterly since 2004 · Print $24/yr ($45 for 2 years), online $20/yr, print + online $30/yr (checked September 28, 2026)
Independent of Airstream Inc. and published by Rich Luhr since 2004, Airstream Life is the rare brand magazine that reads like a good travel quarterly: history, restoration and maintenance advice, destinations and owner stories, with very little advertising. Online subscribers get the digital archive back to 2010, which is the best Airstream maintenance library in print. Summer 2026 was the current issue when we checked, so reports that it stopped publishing are wrong.
What we like
- Ad-light and independent
- Digital archive back to 2010 with the online plan
- Cheapest print subscription on this page
Keep in mind
- Only for Airstream owners and admirers
- Quarterly; back issues sell out fast
Best for: Anyone who tows, restores or dreams about a silver trailer
Print Digital

Best for vintage trailers
Vintage Camper Trailers Magazine
Print + digital · 6 issues a year · Print + digital $35/yr, digital $24/yr, single issues $7.95 (checked September 28, 2026)
Paul and Caroline Lacitinola have covered the canned-ham world since 2011: rescues, restorations, rally reports, collector profiles and a classifieds section that is worth the subscription on its own if you are hunting for a project. Subscribers also get the Nationwide Discounted Campers Program, 20 percent off classifieds and $20 off VCT-hosted rallies. Issue 87 was current when we checked.
What we like
- Restoration how-tos you will not find anywhere else
- Rally calendar and classifieds
- Subscriber perks pay back the price
Keep in mind
- Niche by design; modern rigs get no coverage
- Canadian and international print rates are higher (shown at checkout)
Best for: Restorers, collectors and rally regulars

Best for Canadian RVers
RV Lifestyle Magazine (Canada)
Print + digital · 6 issues a year · CA$35 for 1 year, CA$50 for 2, CA$69 for 3 · Free digital edition with a Canadian address (checked September 28, 2026)
Founded in 1969 as Recreational Vehicle Life and published as Camping Canada – the RV Lifestyle Magazine since 1971, this is the Canadian reference. Two of the six yearly issues are the annual RV Buyers Guide and the Campground Directory, and the rest carry road tests, Hitch Hints and RV Tips columns, campground cooking and destinations on both sides of the border. Taylor Publishing Group also gives away a one-year digital edition to readers who sign up with a Canadian province.
What we like
- Annual Buyers Guide and Campground Directory included
- Free digital edition for Canadian readers
- Three years for CA$69
Keep in mind
- Print is priced for Canada; US subscribers go through a separate order page
- Some pages on the site still say seven issues; six is current
Best for: RVers who camp and shop in Canada
With a club membership
RV magazines that come with a membership
Three of the best-known RV magazines cannot be bought on their own any more. You get them by joining the club, so we list what the membership costs and what else it brings.
Print Digital

Best club magazine
Family RVing Magazine (FRVA)
Print + digital · 6 issues a year · Included with Family RV Association membership: $99/yr, $188 for 2 years, $267 for 3; monthly plan $9.95/mo (digital only) (checked September 28, 2026)
The Family Motor Coach Association became the Family RV Association in 2024–25, but its magazine kept its name and its strengths: technical and DIY columns, RV spotlights across every rig type, travel features, recall notices and association news. It moved from monthly to bimonthly in 2024. There is no stand-alone subscription any more; the magazine comes with membership, which also brings roadside assistance, tire and insurance discounts and the annual conventions.
What we like
- Strong technical and maintenance writing
- Membership perks (roadside, tire, insurance programs) come with it
- Digital archive of past issues for members
Keep in mind
- No subscription without the $99 membership
- Bimonthly since 2024; older listings still say monthly
Best for: Owners who want a club and a hands-on magazine in one payment
Print Digital

Best for full-timers
Escapees Magazine
Print + digital · Quarterly · Included with Escapees RV Club membership: $49.95/yr (free for active US military) (checked September 28, 2026)
Escapees grew out of a five-page newsletter Joe and Kay Peterson mailed in 1978, and the quarterly still reads like it was written by people who live on the road: extended-stay destinations, boondocking, mail and domicile questions, maintenance and the club’s community stories. Members get 15-plus years of back issues online. Harvest Hosts bought the club in May 2024; the magazine and the $49.95 dues carried on unchanged.
What we like
- Written for full-time and long-term travelers
- Members-only archive of 15+ years
- Membership adds mail forwarding, co-op parks and discounts
Keep in mind
- Quarterly only
- Not sold on newsstands or as a stand-alone subscription
Best for: Full-timers and anyone planning to become one
Print Digital

Best road-trip storytelling
Wildsam (Good Sam)
Print + digital · 4 print issues (January, April, July, October) plus monthly digital editions · Good Sam Elite members only since January 2026 (Elite listed at $149/yr on goodsam.com) (checked September 28, 2026)
This is the descendant of Trailer Life (1941) and MotorHome (1968), which merged into RV Magazine in January 2021 and were rebranded Wildsam in January 2024 after Camping World bought the field-guide publisher of that name. The writing is the best in the category: scenic drives, small towns, campgrounds and gear in a travel-magazine voice, with a 2026 refocus on RVs and technical content after readers asked for it. The catch is access: since January 2026 you cannot subscribe; it comes only with Good Sam Club Elite.
What we like
- Best-written RV magazine in North America
- Monthly digital editions on top of the seasonal print issues
- Elite membership adds Camping World and campground discounts
Keep in mind
- No stand-alone subscription since January 2026; Good Sam Standard ($39) and Basic do not include it
- Print dropped from 8 issues to 4 in 2026
Best for: Good Sam Elite members and road-trip readers

Best free RV magazine
GoRV (Australia)
Digital only · Monthly · Free to read online, in the app or by newsletter (checked September 28, 2026)
GoRV is Australian, so the caravans, motorhomes and camper trailers it tests are not always the ones on an American dealer lot, but it is the best free RV magazine on the internet by a wide margin: a full monthly issue (number 115 landed on September 24, 2026), independent road tests, tech how-tos and touring destinations, with video versions of most tests. Read it in the browser flipbook or the GoRV app.
What we like
- A real monthly magazine, completely free
- Independent reviews and tech articles
- Video companions to most tests
Keep in mind
- Australian models, prices and roads
- Digital only; no print option
Best for: Anyone who wants a free monthly RV read and does not mind the accent

Best free archive
I Heart RVing
Digital only · Quarterly 2021 to Summer 2025, now a website and weekly newsletter · Free (checked September 28, 2026)
I Heart RVing launched in 2021 as a beginner-friendly quarterly and published through its Summer 2025 issue; the site now labels that run the “Legacy Magazine” and offers every issue as a free PDF. Nothing new is coming as a magazine, but the how-tos, RV walk-throughs and regional guides hold up, and the free weekly newsletter continues.
What we like
- Every back issue is a free download
- Good beginner how-tos and rig walk-throughs
- Free weekly newsletter still running
Keep in mind
- No new issues since Summer 2025
- Older third-party listings still quote a paid subscription that no longer exists
Best for: New RVers who want a free stack of starter reading
Digital Free option
Best free newsletter
RVtravel.com newsletter
Email newsletter, not a magazine · Weekly issue plus daily tips · Free (checked September 28, 2026)
Not a magazine, but it belongs on this list: Chuck Woodbury has published the RVtravel.com newsletter for about 25 years, and issue 1,280 went out on September 27, 2026. It is the closest thing RVing has to a weekly newspaper, with recalls, campground news, reader letters, tech Q&A and a healthy skepticism toward industry press releases.
What we like
- Weekly, free and independent
- Recalls and industry news you will not get from a quarterly
- Deep archive on the website
Keep in mind
- Email format, no print
- Opinionated; some readers find it grumpy
Best for: Readers who want RV news every week
Industry press
RV trade and business magazines
Written for manufacturers, dealers, suppliers and campground operators. Free, and the fastest way to hear about new models, recalls and what is happening behind the dealership counter.

Best industry read
RVBusiness
Print (trade) + free digital editions · Bimonthly plus the Market Report and other specials · Free to read online (checked September 28, 2026)
G&G Media Group’s flagship covers manufacturers, dealers and suppliers, the RV of the Year and Top 50 Dealer awards, and the numbers behind the industry. Publisher Rick Kessler and COO Scott Stropkai took over from the founders in 2023. The July/August 2026 issue was the latest free digital edition when we checked, and the website is the fastest source of RV industry news for consumers too.
What we like
- Digital issues are free to anyone
- Best source for factory news, recalls and new-model announcements
- Daily website coverage
Keep in mind
- Written for the trade, not for campers
- Print is a controlled circulation
Best for: RV shoppers who want to know what the factories are doing

Dealer and service news
RV News
Print + digital · Monthly · Free to qualified RV-industry workers (verification takes up to 30 days) (checked September 28, 2026)
Published by DRN Media in Louisville, Colorado, since 1975, RV News is the monthly for dealerships, service shops and suppliers, and it has won Folio’s best B2B full issue three years running. Subscriptions, the daily newsletter and the digital edition are free if you work in the industry; everyone else can read the website.
What we like
- Monthly and free to the trade
- Strong dealer and service-department coverage
- Daily e-newsletter
Keep in mind
- Industry verification required for the magazine
- Consumer relevance is limited
Best for: Dealers, technicians and suppliers
Print Digital Free option

Aftermarket and dealer trade
RV PRO
Print + digital · Monthly · Free qualified subscription; back issues online (checked September 28, 2026)
RV PRO has been owned by Cahaba Media Group since May 2022 (it started at National Business Media in 2005) and kept its Colorado editorial team. It is the business-to-business monthly for dealership staff and the aftermarket: CEO interviews, dealer profiles, supplier trends and a look at products before they hit the shelves. The October 2026 issue was current when we checked.
What we like
- Monthly, with a full online back-issue archive
- Previews of aftermarket products
- Daily RV PRO newsletter
Keep in mind
- Qualified-subscriber form; not aimed at consumers
- Less consumer-useful than RVBusiness
Best for: Dealership and aftermarket staff
Print Digital Free option

For campground owners
Woodall’s Campground Magazine
Print + free digital download · Monthly plus an annual directory · Free subscription (checked September 28, 2026)
Despite the famous name, this is not the old Woodall’s camping directory for travelers. It is G&G Media’s monthly for the people who own and run campgrounds and RV parks: site products, financing, marketing, regulations and columns from park operators. If you are thinking of buying a park, or just curious why your favorite one keeps adding cabins, it is a free and surprisingly readable window into the business.
What we like
- Free print and digital
- The only magazine about the campground business
- Annual WCM directory of suppliers
Keep in mind
- Nothing here helps you pick a campsite
- Trade audience
Best for: Park owners, workampers and the campground-curious
Print Digital Free option

Canadian trade
RV Dealer News (Canada)
Print (trade) + free digital flipbook · Seasonal, about four issues a year · Free to read online (checked September 28, 2026)
Taylor Publishing Group’s Canadian trade title (the sister of RV Lifestyle Magazine) covers Canadian dealers and manufacturers, the Canadian RV Dealer of the Year, the RV/MH Hall of Fame and industry personnel moves. Editor Norm Rosen’s heritage with the title goes back to 1971. Note the address: rvldealernews.com, with an “l”; the Autumn 2025 issue (Volume 54, Number 2) was the latest flipbook we could find.
What we like
- Free flipbook issues
- Canadian market coverage nobody else provides
Keep in mind
- Seasonal and small
- We could not find a 2026 issue online yet
Best for: Canadian dealers and industry watchers

Merged, renamed or gone quiet
RV magazines that changed since our last list
Half the titles on our 2024 list have merged, been renamed or stopped publishing. Here is where each one went, so you do not pay for a magazine that no longer arrives.

Trailer Life, MotorHome and RV Magazine
Trailer Life (1941) and MotorHome (1968) printed their last issues in December 2020 and merged into RV Magazine in January 2021. RV Magazine was renamed Wildsam in January 2024, and since January 2026 Wildsam is available only to Good Sam Elite members. Good Sam says a free digital archive of the RV Magazine editions still exists on rv.com, but the archive link was broken when we checked.

Rootless Living
The magazine for digital nomads published its final issue (November/December 2023) and merged into RV Today in January 2024; the same publisher owns both.

RV Camping Magazine (RVBlogger)
Mike Scarpignato’s free digital magazine ran from June 2021 to June 2023, when RV Today acquired it. Every RV Today plan includes the RV Camping Magazine back issues; the old Issuu archive is no longer updated.

RV Enthusiast
Bob Livingston’s digital technical magazine launched in February 2021 and was excellent, but the July/August 2024 issue is the last one published. The website still sells $9.99 subscriptions; we would not buy one until a new issue appears. The RVExpert articles and podcast archive remain free.

Snowbirds & RV Travelers
SunCruiser Media’s Canadian snowbird magazine has not shown a new issue on PressReader or Pocketmags since April/May 2024, and the subscription page lists no prices. The website keeps publishing articles. Treat it as a website until the publisher says otherwise.

RV America Magazine (Passport America)
Passport America’s member magazine was free online for years, but the site now shows an empty shell and the newest flipbook we found is the club’s 2025 camping directory. Members may still receive editions; we could not verify a 2026 issue.

How we made this list
We started from the 22 titles on our 2024 RV magazine list and checked every one against the publisher’s own website on September 28, 2026: whether it is still publishing, how often, in what formats, and what it costs. Titles that have not published an issue in more than a year are listed under “changes” rather than recommended. No publisher paid to be on this page, and the links to magazines are not affiliate links; RV-Roundup does not earn anything if you subscribe.
Prices, frequencies and availability are as published on September 28, 2026 and change often, especially for club-bundled magazines. The price on the publisher’s page at the time you subscribe applies. If you spot a change, let us know and we will update the page.
