What you’ll see
Zip lines over an old quarry
Limestone was mined here by pickaxe and dynamite until 1929. Today the cliffs, canyons and spring-fed lakes are the course, and guides take every group from platform to platform.

Pick the right tour
The park runs five daytime zip tours. Sky High is 3 zips in about an hour, with lines up to 1,150 feet long and 155 feet above the canyon floor; the park calls it its most strenuous. Treetop Express adds 5 zips and 2 sky bridges in about 1.5 hours, and Big Cliff Canyon is the full 9-zip tour across Lost Spring Lake, about 2.5 to 3 hours. All zip tours require riders between 70 and 270 pounds, about age 10 and up.
RV tip: book a morning tour; reviewers say mornings beat the Florida heat. Big Cliff Canyon and Best of the Best are closed for course maintenance through October 30, 2026.

Why go
Florida, with some elevation
Florida is famously flat, which is what makes The Canyons unusual. The park says it has the longest, highest and fastest zips in Florida, and the cliffs and quarry lakes give the course real drops you won’t find on most of the peninsula.
The Walker family opened the park in 2011 on what WUFT describes as about 94 acres of abandoned quarry; the park itself says 100 acres. Tripadvisor ranks it No. 1 of 31 outdoor activities in Ocala, and many reviewers single out their guides by name.
For RVers it is an easy stop: about a mile off I-75 at Exit 358, north of Ocala on the way to or from Gainesville.

For RVers
Visiting The Canyons with an RV
The practical stuff we wished someone had told us before we pulled in.
Ask about parking a rig
Guests park at the address and check in at the red main building. The park doesn’t post RV, bus or trailer rules, so if you’re towing, call (352) 351-9477 before you go, or come in the tow vehicle.
Book before you drive
Reservations are required and tours are charged in full when you book. Cancel more than 72 hours ahead for a refund, less a $3 per person fee; inside 72 hours there are no refunds.
Leave the dog at camp
Pets are not accommodated at The Canyons, so plan for your dog to stay at your RV park. Don’t leave pets in a parked rig in the Florida heat.
Dress for it
Closed-toe, closed-heel shoes are required (no Crocs), along with long shorts or pants. Tie long hair back, skip hanging jewelry, and arrive at least 20 minutes early. Tours run rain or shine.
