What you’ll see

Coasters, a steam train and a water park

One ticket covers the rides, shows and Boulder Beach Water Park, so plan on a full day, or two.

Start here

Start with the steam train

Silverwood opened in 1988 with a steam railway, an airshow and an old-time Main Street, and the train is still a good first ride. The Silverwood Central Railway runs a 30-minute loop on 3-foot narrow-gauge track, a relaxed way to get your bearings before you head for the coasters.

RV tip: the park stays open rain or shine, but lightning temporarily closes the tall rides and all water attractions, so keep an eye on summer storms.

More to see

  • Five roller coastersCorkscrew (1990), the wooden Timber Terror (1996) and Tremors (1999), Aftershock (2008) and the single-rail Stunt Pilot (2021).
  • Boulder Beach Water ParkIncluded with admission, with a lazy river, wave pools and the Eagle Hunt water coaster. In 2026 it was open daily from June 6 through Labor Day weekend.
  • Scarywood Haunted NightsOctober evenings since 2009, with haunted attractions and rides in the dark. Tickets are sold online only, and it isn’t recommended for kids 12 and under.
  • Fall weekendsSpring and fall event days sell cheaper tickets; the 2026 calendar included a classic car show in early September.

Why go

The Northwest’s big theme park, just up US-95

It began as an airfield. Clayton Henley founded the Henley Aerodrome here in 1973, and Gary Norton bought it in 1981 and opened Silverwood on June 20, 1988. Herschend, the company behind Dollywood, completed its purchase of the park on March 27, 2026.

For RVers it’s an easy drive north on US-95, about 25 minutes from the in-town Coeur d’Alene parks. The simplest plan is to stay at Silverwood RV Park, next to the park with its own tunnel to the gate, so you never move the rig. If you drive in, parking is $10 per vehicle for the day.

Come between early June and Labor Day weekend if you want Boulder Beach, which opens daily then and is included in admission. In October, Scarywood takes over on weekend evenings, aimed at teens and adults.

For RVers

Visiting Silverwood on an RV trip

The practical stuff we wished someone had told us before we pulled in.

Parking in the main lot

Parking is $10 per vehicle for the day, free with a season pass. Silverwood doesn’t post a separate RV or oversize area, so if you’re bringing a motorhome, call (208) 683-3400 ahead. The lot is large and patrolled by security; note the sign on your light post so you can find your vehicle.

Or stay next door

Silverwood RV Park guests walk in through a tunnel and get discounted tickets; one-day tickets are sold at the RV park office. Its 2026 season ran May 2 to October 30, and extra vehicles park in the main lot for $10.

No pets in the park

Pets aren’t allowed in the park, only service animals, and Silverwood asks guests not to leave pets in parked cars. Plan for a sitter or kennel, or leave them at an RV park that allows pets.

Coolers and height rules

One soft-sided cooler up to 12 by 12 by 12 inches is allowed, with snacks or a personal lunch and sealed non-alcoholic drinks. Heights are measured without shoes: 42 inches for Timber Terror and Tremors, 48 for Corkscrew and Stunt Pilot, and 54 for Aftershock.
