The park report card
We don’t recycle other sites’ reviews, but the published scores tell a clear story: RVers love the steps-to-the-sand location and the friendly staff, and the gripes are about tight older sites, prices and wind.

Our take: the closest you can park to the sand with full hookups in Port Aransas: trails over the dunes, a bathhouse, a fish-cleaning station and friendly staff, a few minutes from town. The older sites are tight and prices use dynamic pricing, so ask for a big-rig site and expect wind.

On The Beach RV Park is a 58-site park behind the dunes at Beach Access Road 1A, run by USA Camping Company. All ages are welcome, and it suits RVers who want to walk to the sand and fish the surf more than they want resort amenities.
Best for
- Beach walkers: trails cross the dunes to the sand right from the park.
- Anglers: a fish-cleaning station for your surf and pier catch.
- Snowbirds: weekly, monthly and seasonal rates from about $20–$42 a night in winter.
- Families: all ages welcome, with a community area and beach games.
Consider this
- Older sites are tight; RVers rate site quality lower than location.
- No pool, and the beach is windy.
- Electric is extra on stays of 7 days or more, and prices change with demand.
- Rigs built before 2010, homemade RVs and bus conversions need approval, and UTVs aren’t allowed.
