What you’ll see

What to see at Patriot Park

Patriot Park is part memorial park, part transportation hub. Walk the half-mile trail past the state flags and veterans memorials, then catch a trolley to Dollywood, the Parkway or Gatlinburg from the transit center at the east end of the lot.

The Fun Time Trolley Mass Transit Center

All Pigeon Forge trolley routes start and end here: North Parkway, South Parkway, Dollywood, Gatlinburg Welcome Center and Wears Valley. Most routes cost $1 per boarding, Dollywood is $2.50, and a $3 All Day Pass is sold at the transit office or in the app. Children 3 and under ride free. Trolleys run 8 AM to midnight from March through the first week of January, and 10 AM to 10 PM until early March.

RV tip: leave the tow car here and ride to Dollywood for $2.50 instead of driving the Parkway. Bring exact change; drivers can’t make change.

Why go

Why Patriot Park is the easiest place to start a Pigeon Forge day

Patriot Park is where Pigeon Forge honors its veterans. The city describes it as a passive park, with a walking trail of about half a mile that loops past the flags of all 50 states and several memorials to local people who served in the Armed Forces. It’s a calm place to stretch your legs in the middle of a busy town.

It’s also the center of the city’s trolley system. The Mass Transit Center at the east end of the lot added 313 public parking spaces, public restrooms and 10 trolley berths, and every route starts and ends here. For RVers, that means one place to park the tow car and ride to Dollywood, the Parkway or Gatlinburg.

The park hosts some of Pigeon Forge’s biggest free events. The Patriot Festival ran July 3–4 in 2026 with concerts and fireworks, and the city lists Winterfest lights, Fourth of July fireworks and bluegrass concerts here too. In November you can pick up the Winterfest Lights Driving Tour Guide at the transit office.

For RVers

Bringing the rig to Patriot Park

Buses and large vans use Patriot Park, but the city doesn’t post RV rules or parking fees. Plan to come in the tow car.

Parking at the park

The Mass Transit Center project added 313 public spaces, and The Old Mill says buses and large vans park in Patriot Park. Its FAQ also calls the area ‘overflow and paid parking,’ while the city doesn’t post a fee or RV rules. Check the signs when you arrive, and if the lot is full the city directs drivers to the Municipal Parking Lot on Teaster Lane.

Avoiding Parkway traffic

From the Parkway, turn at traffic light #7 for the Old Mill District. Coming from Veterans Blvd, Teaster Lane leads to the Old Mill District and keeps you off the busiest part of the Parkway. The city says trolley transportation from the Municipal Parking Lot to Patriot Park is free.

Trolley routes and fares

Routes: North Parkway, South Parkway, Gatlinburg Welcome Center and Wears Valley at $1 per boarding, and Dollywood at $2.50, running every 15 minutes from 30 minutes before the park opens. A $3 All Day Pass is sold at the transit office or in the app. Trolleys don’t run on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve or Christmas Day.

Pets and the trolley

Pets are not allowed on Pigeon Forge trolleys, so a dog-friendly day means driving. The city’s Patriot Park page doesn’t post a pet rule; keep dogs leashed on the trail and memorial areas, and never leave a pet in a parked vehicle while you ride.
