On the menu

Jambalaya, gumbo and crab cakes

The menu leans on Louisiana classics: gumbo, étouffée, jambalaya, po’boys and blackened redfish, plus Florida grouper and mahi. Lunch runs a few dollars cheaper than dinner on most of the same dishes, so a midday visit is the budget play.

Jambalaya

Harry’s signature rice dish with shrimp, chicken and sausage: $21.99 at dinner or $16.99 at lunch on the September 2026 Ocala menu. It’s one of the dishes Tripadvisor reviewers mention most.

RV tip: Ocala RV Camp Resort is about 12 minutes away. Come for lunch, when most of the same dishes cost a few dollars less.

Also worth ordering

  • Harry’s Signature Crab Cakes$26.99 dinner entrée / $15.99 starter, pan-seared with roasted red pepper aioli; a reviewer favorite and the dish the chain puts its name on.
  • Harry’s Original Gumbo$6.49 cup / $10.99 bowl, the house’s ‘famous recipe’ with shrimp, crab, fish, sausage and crawfish. A cup is an easy add-on to any meal.
  • Shrimp-N-Grits$22.99 dinner / $17.99 lunch, shrimp over grits with Cajun red-eye gravy and bacon; add smoked sausage for $3.99.
  • Oreo Beignets$9.99, six fried Oreos with white chocolate bourbon sauce, frequently mentioned in reviews and big enough to share.

Why go

New Orleans flavor on Ocala’s historic square

Harry’s sits in the Marion Block, an 1885 building right on downtown Ocala’s square, and its patio tables look out over the action. It is a natural stop if you are already in town to stroll the shops or see a show.

The kitchen cooks Southern, Cajun and Creole food in both classic and modern styles. Expect rich, saucy plates like étouffée, jambalaya and shrimp and grits, alongside simpler fried and blackened fish for anyone who wants it plain.

It is consistently one of the best-reviewed restaurants in Ocala, with thousands of Tripadvisor and Google reviews. Reviewers praise the food and value; the most common gripe is the wait at busy times.

The visitor bureau says the patio’s five outdoor tables welcome leashed dogs. Ask for a patio table when you arrive.

Go for Fat Tuesday
