The Keeter Center story
A World’s Fair lodge, rebuilt by students
The Keeter Center opened in 2004 as a replica of Dobyns Hall, a log building from the 1904 St. Louis World’s Fair that stood on campus until it burned in 1930. Students did much of the construction, and the center is named for the parents of donor James P. Keeter.
College of the Ozarks students work on campus to cover their tuition, and many of them cook and serve in the dining room, so waits can vary with class schedules. The campus is alcohol-free, and since August 2025 the restaurant has closed on Sundays.
