The Treehouse story
A homespun slice of Americana
The Treehouse Cafe opened in 2012 as Family Tree Recipes, just outside historic Magnolia, and picked up its quirks as it was built. You park by the treehouse and a hillbilly bus, then find a Zombie Garden, friendly tortoises, sloping floors and seating indoors or out.
Mike and Mary Kelton bought the cafe in 2020 and kept its hometown feel. It supports local schools and youth sports, and gives part of its sales to the local Folds of Honor chapter, which funds scholarships for military families.
Why it made our list
- 4.5 on Google from 1,500+ reviews
- Tortoises, a treehouse and outdoor seating
