Before you book

Plan your stay

Everything that decides whether Midtown Mountain fits your rig, your dates and your budget, in one place.

Our take: a tidy, friendly little park in the pines with the best location in Ruidoso: walk to Midtown’s restaurants and shops, with a grocery next door and spotless private bathrooms. Sites are back-ins, some are tight among the trees, and town traffic is audible, so give your exact length when you book and ask for the upper level.

Midtown Mountain Campground & RV Park (formerly Blue Spruce RV Park) is a small, privately owned park on the north edge of Midtown Ruidoso. The owners live on site, and most guests come for the walkable location and the cool pines rather than resort amenities.

Best for

  • Walkers: Midtown’s shops, restaurants and tasting rooms are a short walk away, with a grocery store next door.
  • Summer escapes: July highs average about 81°, 26° cooler than Phoenix.
  • Remote workers: the park advertises about 300 Mbps Wi-Fi per site, and reviewers say it streams well.
  • Smaller rigs: vans, Class Cs and trailers up to about 33 ft have the most sites to choose from.

Consider this

  • Every RV site is a back-in or drive-in, some are tight among the trees, and only about a dozen take rigs over 33 ft.
  • From US-70 you drive through Midtown’s narrow streets; RVers say it’s fine if you take it slowly.
  • Town traffic and service trucks can be heard; noise is Campendium’s lowest score (4.4 of 5).
  • The park is near the Rio Ruidoso; during the 2025 floods some guests were moved to the lower level and got evacuation warnings.

Good to know before you pull in

Five things that change your booking

Ask these on the phone before you reserve.

  • Which level will I be on? RVers recommend the upper level; ask before you arrive.
  • Which site fits my rig? Lengths run from 26 to 45 ft, so give your exact length and say whether you tow.
  • Is it a one-night stay? The website asks one-night guests to call 575-964-8555 rather than book online.
  • What will my total be? Ask about tax and the fees for extra guests, pets and vehicles.
  • What’s the cancellation deadline? 11 a.m. four days before arrival, or seven days for weekly and monthly stays.

Frequently asked questions

A few details before you hit the road.

It’s in town. The park is at the north end of Midtown on Mechem Drive, a short walk from the shops and restaurants on Sudderth Drive, with a grocery store next door. Ruidoso Downs is about 10 minutes east by car.

Sometimes. All RV sites are back-ins or drive-ins, and lengths run from 26 to 45 ft. Sites 20–25 take 45 ft motorhomes, and sites 22–25 also take trailers and fifth wheels up to 45 ft. Give your exact length when you book; RVers say the trees make some sites tricky to back into.

Online rates checked on October 8, 2026 were $55.75 a night Sunday to Thursday for any RV site and about $63–$77 on Friday and Saturday nights, before tax. Extra guests over two are $2.50, extra pets $1 and extra vehicles $5 a night. Call for monthly rates.

It sits near the Rio Ruidoso, below the burn scars of the 2024 South Fork and Salt fires. During the July 2025 flash floods, guests reported being placed on the lower level and getting evacuation warnings. In monsoon season (July to September), ask for the upper level and watch National Weather Service flash flood warnings.

Yes. Pets must be leashed and never left outside or barking in an RV unattended. One pet is included and each extra is $1 a night. There’s a small dog park, Daisy Mae’s, on site, and leashed pets can walk the park’s trails.

No. Open fires aren’t allowed in the park or anywhere in Ruidoso’s village limits, and generators aren’t allowed in the park. The covered guest pavilion has grills.

Yes, all year. Ruidoso sits near 6,800 ft, January nights average about 21°, and the park requires you to disconnect your water hose on freezing nights. Ski Apache is about 30 minutes away.
