The Local Ocean story

A fish market with a restaurant attached

Laura Anderson, from a fishing family, and fisherman Al Pazar started Local Ocean in 2002 and opened the doors in 2005 as a fish market with a little restaurant attached. An upstairs addition later doubled the seating.

Today it buys from more than 30 Oregon fishing boats, and the commercial docks are right across the street. Since 2022 it has been owned by a trust that keeps the business in employee hands.

Why it made our list

  • 4.6 on Google from 5,400+ reviews
  • Fish from 30+ Oregon boats, docks across the street
  • Fish market downstairs for seafood to take back to camp
  • About 30 minutes from Sea & Sand RV Park
