The Waterfront Depot story

An old railroad depot on the river

The restaurant fills the old Mapleton train station, which was taken apart, moved and rebuilt on the waterfront in Old Town Florence. Its windows look across the Siuslaw River to the 1936 drawbridge.

It’s a small room that fills up fast, which is why guides tell you to reserve. Fodor’s, AAA and Travel Oregon all list it, and reviewers keep coming back for the halibut and crab.

Why it made our list

  • 4.6 on Google from 2,000+ reviews
  • River and bridge views from an old train depot
  • Listed by Fodor’s, AAA and Travel Oregon
  • About 10 minutes from Darlings Marina & RV Resort
