We don’t recycle other sites’ reviews, but the published scores tell a clear story: RVers like the shade, the clean bathrooms and the in-town location, and the usual complaints are tight sites and noise from Government Way.

Our take: a shady, family-run park in the middle of town, with full hookups under tall pines, clean bathrooms and stores a short walk away. Sites are tight and the front row hears Government Way, so it suits small and mid-size rigs best; ask for a site toward the back.

Tamarack RV Park is a family-owned RV park in the middle of Coeur d’Alene, run by owners Dan and Teresa for more than 30 years. Its loops of sites sit under tall ponderosa pines, with stores a short walk away, so it suits RVers who want an easy in-town base rather than a resort with a pool.
Best for
- In-town convenience: Costco, Safeway, Sportsman’s Warehouse and Home Depot are about a 5-minute walk, and the lake is about 3 miles south.
- Shade seekers: tall ponderosa pines cover most of the park, and reviewers say it’s quiet toward the back.
- Winter and shoulder-season travelers: it’s open all year, with weekly rates from September to May and heated bathrooms.
- Fairgrounds and event visitors: the Kootenai County Fairgrounds is about a block away.
Consider this
- Sites are close together, and the pines make for tight turns; the longest rig RVers report is 38 ft.
- Front sites hear traffic on Government Way; ask for a spot toward the back.
- No pool, dog park, cable TV or camp store, and wood fires aren’t allowed (propane pits are for rent).
- Many sites hold long-term guests, and the office is closed on Saturdays.

Good to know before you pull in
Five things that change your booking
Ask these on the phone before you reserve.
- Which site fits my rig? Give your length, and ask for a pull-thru if you’re towing.
- Can I get a site at the back? Sites away from Government Way are quieter.
- Do I qualify for a discount? Discounts must be booked by phone, not online.
- Is there a minimum stay? Ask about holiday and summer weekends.
- Is my dog OK? The park’s FAQ says small pets on a leash; check before bringing a big dog.
