Meet the man behind the collection

The museum is run by Robert “Gunny” St. Germain, a retired Marine. Gunny is short for gunnery sergeant. Reviewers name him as their host, and The Dyrt notes you can tour the museum without staying at the RV park.

RV tip: call (256) 426-7927 before you drive over. The museum has no website, and its listed hours haven’t been confirmed.

Why go

A labor of love in Quartzsite

Gunny’s has drawn visitors since at least 2014, when the first Tripadvisor reviews appeared. It began as one Marine’s personal collection, and a 2022 reviewer said it had recently been expanded.

There’s no outside sponsorship. A 2015 reviewer called it a real labor of love, and a 2023 post by Military Living said it was built to honor veterans from every branch.

It’s small, so it pairs well with other stops in town, like the Quartzsite Museum or Hi Jolly’s Tomb. Reviewers rate it highly: 4.9 on Tripadvisor and 4.8 on Google.
