Happy hour tapas at the bar

The bar is the heart of the place: 40 feet long, pouring martinis, frozen drinks, beer and wine alongside the tapas list. The visitor bureau lists happy hour from 3 to 6 pm on weekdays and from 11 am to 6 pm on weekends; other guides say 3 to 6 pm daily, so ask when you sit down.

RV tip: an early happy hour gets you the cheaper tapas and daylight for parking a big pickup in an unfamiliar lot.

Also worth ordering

  • SteaksHand-crafted steaks are the house specialty; Fodor’s calls out the 28-ounce bone-in porterhouse.
  • Seafood and cioppinoSeafood shares the menu with the beef, and the cioppino is one of the dishes guidebooks name.
  • Award-winning chowderChaBones has won the Golden Ladle at the Southwest Chowderfest, according to Today’s News-Herald.
  • Live musicThe visitor bureau lists live music on Thursdays and Sundays from 6 to 9 pm.

Why go

A night-out dinner close to the bridge

ChaBones sits in the London Bridge Shopping Center on London Bridge Road, a few blocks north of the bridge. Inside, it trades the lake-town flip-flop feel for a modern dining room with original artwork and a 40-foot bar.

Tripadvisor ranks it #2 of 151 restaurants in Lake Havasu City, and Google rates it 4.6 from more than 2,500 reviews. Reviewers praise the happy hour and the service; opinions on the steaks are more mixed, and some find the room loud when it is busy.

For RVers it is an easy evening out, about 5 minutes from Campbell Cove RV Resort and Lake Havasu State Park. The menu runs from inexpensive tapas to a splurge steak, so a group can eat on different budgets.

For RVers

Taking the rig to ChaBones

The practical stuff we wished someone had told us before we pulled in.

Park in the shopping-center lot

ChaBones is in the London Bridge Shopping Center at 112 London Bridge Rd, and Tripadvisor lists on-site parking. We found no posted rules for RVs or trailers, so unhook at camp and drive in with your tow vehicle.

Call ahead on busy nights

Sources disagree on reservations: one guide says they are not taken, while recent reviewers recommend booking. Call (928) 854-5554 before you go, especially on weekends.

Go early for happy hour

Happy hour is the best-value way to try the tapas. Times vary by source, so confirm when you call; the visitor bureau lists 3–6 pm weekdays and 11 am–6 pm weekends.

Leave the dog at camp

We found no pet policy and no confirmed dog-friendly patio, so plan on leaving pets at the RV. Arizona’s heat makes a parked car unsafe for them most of the year.
