What guests say
The resort report card
We don’t recycle other sites’ reviews, but the published scores are worth reading together: guests praise the clean grounds, the lake access, the pool and hot tub and the friendly staff, while high prices, a strict cancellation policy, close gravel sites and no Wi-Fi at the sites pull some scores down.

Leave the rig parked. The London Bridge, the state park beaches and the lake’s replica lighthouses are all a short drive away, and Route 66’s burro town is an easy day trip.

London Bridge & the Island
The 1831 bridge bought from the City of London and rebuilt here in 1971 now spans the Bridgewater Channel, linking downtown shops and restaurants to the Island’s beaches.

Islander Resort is a large, gated resort on the Island with a mix of RV sites, park models and vacation rentals. It welcomes families as well as snowbirds, and its private ramp and docks make it a favorite with boaters. The trade-offs are price, strict booking rules and limited privacy.
Best for
- Boaters: a private launch ramp, boat slips and beaches are inside the gates.
- Families: the resort markets itself as kid friendly, with a pool, lawn games and events.
- Motorhomes that want the water: lake-view sites are reserved for motorhomes.
- Anyone who wants to be minutes from the London Bridge and the Bridgewater Channel.
Consider this
- Sites are about 36 × 50 ft on gravel and fairly close together, and most don’t face the lake.
- There’s no Wi-Fi or cable at the sites, only Wi-Fi at the clubhouse.
- RVs must be 10 years old or newer unless approved, and travel trailers are capped at 36 ft.
- Every stay is at least two nights, holidays cost 20% more, and only 80% of a deposit comes back even with notice.

Good to know before you pull in
Five things that change your booking
Ask these on the phone before you reserve.
- Will my rig be allowed? Give the office your year and length: travel trailers over 36 ft and RVs older than 10 years need approval.
- Can I get a lake-view site? They’re for motorhomes only, and the resort guarantees a site type, not a site number.
- What if my plans change? With 24 hours’ notice you get 80% of your deposit back (7 days on holiday weekends), and one free date change is allowed.
- Do you have monthly rates? Monthly stays are offered on every site type except lake view, but the price isn’t posted.
- Is my dog allowed? Two pets per site, and Pit Bulls, Chows, Dobermans, Am Staffs, Rottweilers and wolf hybrids aren’t allowed.
