Michelin Guide

On the menu

Prime steaks, onion soup and lobster mac

The Michelin Guide calls it an urban steakhouse with farm-to-table touches: prime Angus steaks, seafood and seasonal vegetables, some grown on the owner’s Edwards Ranch Estates farm, plus a long wine list.

The 16 oz New York strip

The 16 oz Prime Angus New York strip ($89 on the posted menu) is the dish OpenTable diners mention most, in 36 reviews. On Google, prime rib comes up in 28 reviews; it isn’t on the current posted menu, so ask if it’s on tonight.

RV tip: the free lot is part of an office campus, so arrive early Thursday to Saturday when the Saloon is busy, and bring the tow vehicle, not the rig.

Also worth ordering

  • Lobster mac ’n’ cheeseThe most-mentioned dish in Google’s review topics (35 reviews).
  • Five onion soupA $17 starter and the second most-mentioned dish on OpenTable.
  • Popcorn ice creamA dessert named in 11 Google reviews.
  • Old-fashioned pecan pie$16, and on the Saloon menu too.

Why go

Steak dinner, then the dance floor

THE RANCH opened in 2011 on the ground floor of Extron’s headquarters on Ball Road, the project of Extron founder Andrew Edwards. The Saloon next door has a sunken maple dance floor and takes its cue from Southern California’s old country clubs such as the Palomino.

It is #9 of 833 Anaheim restaurants on Tripadvisor and 4.5 on Google from about 1,300 reviews. Diners praise the steaks, the service and the wine list; the usual complaints are the prices and the upselling.

For RVers it’s a splurge night about 4 minutes from Anaheim Harbor RV Park and 7 from Orangeland. Book dinner, then walk next door Thursday to Saturday for a free line-dance lesson.
