What to order

Northwest seafood with a few global twists: crab cakes, cioppino, crusted rockfish and lingcod, a rockfish green curry, plus fish and chips and fish tacos for a simpler lunch. There’s a full bar and a kids’ menu.

Dungeness crab cakes

The crab cakes are one of the dishes Tripadvisor reviewers mention most, along with the cioppino, a tomato-broth seafood stew. Current prices are on the online menu.

Pro tip: Book ahead and ask for a window table. Waits can run more than an hour at peak times, and the gap between lunch and dinner is usually quieter.

The Tidal Raves story

From gas station to cliffside institution

Chef Jon Hamlin opened Tidal Raves in 1990 in a building that had been a 1960s gas station and then a pizza parlor, perched on the rocks on the west side of US-101. It started small and grew into one of the best-known dining rooms on the central coast.

In 2019 two longtime employees, Jesse Roberson and Manuel Camarena, bought the restaurant. It holds a Tripadvisor Travelers’ Choice award for 2026, and on rough days the waves break right below the windows.
