Our take: the Island’s best-located waterfront campground, just past the London Bridge, now run by a new operator that promises a cleanup. Until the upgrades show up in reviews, expect older facilities, no sewer at the sites and a strict no-refund policy.

Red Rock Waterside is the old Crazy Horse Campgrounds, 48 acres of state trust land on the Island that has been a campground since the 1950s. A new operator took over in 2026 and promises cleaner, better-managed grounds. The waterfront sites and boat launch are the draw; aging facilities and the lack of sewer hookups are the catch.
Best for
- Boaters: launching is free for overnight guests, and you can add a slip or mooring.
- Campers who want to be on the water, with waterside and VIP waterside sites on the shoreline.
- Groups with golf carts, side-by-sides or e-bikes, which are welcome with a permit.
- Anyone who wants the London Bridge and the Bridgewater Channel a few minutes away.
Consider this
- There’s no sewer at the sites, so you’ll use the dump stations or pay for the pump-out service.
- Rates aren’t posted, and every reservation is non-refundable; notice only earns a credit.
- Most reviews describe aging bathrooms and utilities from the Crazy Horse years.
- The operator changed in 2026, so details may shift, and the rules are enforced with a zero-tolerance policy.

Good to know before you pull in
Five things that change your booking
Ask these on the phone before you reserve.
- What’s the rate for my dates and site type? Prices only show up on the booking page, so compare Standard, Premium and Waterside before you commit.
- How does the pump-out service work? Ask how often it comes and what it costs, since sites have no sewer.
- What if I have to cancel? You get a credit, not a refund, with 30 days’ notice for short stays or 90 days for stays of a month or more.
- Is a slip or mooring open? They’re a daily add-on at the front desk, so reserve early for holiday weekends.
- Is my old Crazy Horse reservation still good? Contact the new office with proof of payment and confirm it before you drive in.
