The resort report card
We don’t recycle other sites’ reviews, but the published scores are worth reading together: guests love the beach, the bay and the activities, while RVers mark it down for tight sites, weekend noise and high prices.

Plan your stay
Everything that decides whether Campland fits your rig, your dates and your budget, in one place.
Our take: a lively, all-in waterfront resort with a real beach, a marina and more to do than any other RV park in San Diego, about 15 minutes from downtown. Sites are tight, busy weekends get loud, and bay or beach sites cost a lot, so pick your section carefully and confirm your total with tax and fees.

Campland on the Bay is a large RV and tent resort on city-owned land on Mission Bay, run by Terre Vista Management under a lease with the City of San Diego. Most guests come for the beach, the water and the kids’ activities rather than a quiet overnight.
Best for
- Families: a beach, pools, a skate park, an arcade and a full activity schedule are all inside the gate.
- Boaters: there’s a 124-slip marina, guest slips and a launch ramp in the resort.
- City sightseeing: Mission Beach, SeaWorld and Old Town are about 10 minutes away.
- Winter stays: rates drop after Labor Day, and monthly sites run September 8 to June 30.
Consider this
- Sites are close together; site quality (2.9) and noise (2.3) are Campendium’s lowest scores.
- Prices climb fast for bay and beach sites, and summer rates run well above winter.
- No generators, except in the dry I section from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Strict dog rules: several breeds are banned, and pets aren’t allowed on the beach.
