The one everyone orders
Senate bean soup
A homemade bean soup made to the recipe once served in the US Senate, still 18¢ a bowl as it has been since 1977, as long as you order something else too.
Pro tip: Get there early, especially on weekends. Waits run long and the lot fills fast.

The McGuire’s story
From Pensacola pub to Destin landmark
McGuire’s began in 1977 as a small neighborhood pub in Pensacola. In 1996 the owners opened this second pub on the Destin Harbor, bringing the same menu, house beer and live Irish music east along the coast.
The calling card is the decor: signed dollar bills cover the ceilings and walls, more than a million across the McGuire’s pubs. The Destin pub brews its own ales and lagers in-house.
Why it made our list
- Walls and ceilings papered with signed dollar bills
- House-brewed beer and live music
- Big portions of steaks and Irish comfort food
- Easy stop on US-98 by the Destin Harbor
