The Edge story

A boating family’s restaurant over the water

Heather and Chris Thomas ran a water sports business across the harbor before opening The Edge here in 2022. The name honors Chris’s late father, Captain Larry Thomas, a Destin charter boat captain.

The casual main level serves Gulf seafood with harbor views, while the SkyBar upstairs is an adults-only lounge with a fire pit, couches and live music. Lights under the dock draw fish after dark.

Why it made our list

  • Built over the Destin Harbor
  • Adults-only rooftop SkyBar with live music
  • Cook-your-catch service for anglers
  • Family-friendly main level with a kids’ menu
