What you’ll see

Calm water, jetty tide pools and boats on the pass

Norriego Point is the sandy tip of Holiday Isle, between Destin Harbor and East Pass. The city opened it as a beach park in March 2026, with a boardwalk, restrooms, showers and a pavilion.

The point and the pass

The harbor side has calmer, shallower water that’s popular for swimming and snorkeling, and the rocks along the jetties hold tide pools with hermit crabs. From the beach you can watch charter boats, sailboats and the pirate ship head in and out of the pass.

RV tip: the city lot has only about 27 spaces and is for passenger cars and trucks. Come early in the tow vehicle and leave the rig at camp.

More to see

  • SnorkelingSnorkeling is the top topic in Google reviews. Visit Destin-FWB suggests high tide for the clearest water near the jetties.
  • Boardwalk and dune walkoversA boardwalk loops the property, with dune crossovers, a pavilion, restrooms and outdoor showers.
  • Watch the currentCurrents around the west jetty in East Pass are fast and unpredictable. Two snorkelers were rescued there on July 4, 2026.
  • Arrive by waterVisitors also reach the point by boat, kayak or paddleboard from the harbor side, a short paddle from HarborWalk Village.

Why go

Destin’s newest beach park, at the mouth of the harbor

Norriego Point was rebuilt with about $15 million in Deepwater Horizon oil spill settlement money, after more than a decade of planning. It opened to the public on March 5, 2026, and the city celebrated with a ribbon cutting in April.

For RVers, it’s a short drive from the Destin campgrounds: about 11 minutes from Destin West and 12 from Henderson Beach. The catch is parking. The lot is small and paid, and the city says pay-to-park is for passenger cars and trucks only.

Hurricane Isaias came ashore near Destin on October 9, and the National Weather Service reported surge and beach erosion along the Okaloosa coast. We found no closure notice for the point as of October 24, but check conditions before you go.

For RVers

Planning a Norriego Point visit from your RV

The practical stuff we wished someone had told us before we pulled in.

Bring the car, not the rig

City pay-to-park is for passenger cars and trucks only, and the Norriego lot has about 27 spaces. Leave the RV and any trailer at camp.

Expect to pay to park

The city lists beach parking at $20 for four hours. In September 2026 the council approved a $5-per-hour option here, so check the rate at the lot.

Leave the dog at camp

Pets aren’t allowed on Destin beaches, along with glass, fires and fireworks.

Respect the pass

Swim on the calm harbor side, stay off the jetty rocks in rough water, and check the beach flags before you go in.
