What you’ll see

Copper Canyon at golden hour

The sunset tour is an easy way to see the lake the locals talk about: canyon walls, replica lighthouses and the London Bridge, all narrated, with the sun going down along the way.

The Sunset Copper Canyon Island Tour

The 30-foot Kon Tiki Canyon Cruiser leaves the London Bridge Resort Executive Dock and heads about 5 miles into the South Basin to Copper Canyon as the sun sets, then swings toward the North Basin and around the island. The captain covers the history of the bridge, founder Robert P. McCulloch and the canyon’s copper mining, and the return passes the city lights and the lit-up bridge.

RV tip: check in at the Ticket Booth at the foot of the London Bridge stairs at least 15 minutes early, and bring a layer in winter; it cools off quickly after sunset.

Why go

Lake Havasu’s top-rated way onto the water

Sunset Charter & Tour Co. is owned and run by Captains Kenny and Janene Samp. Tripadvisor ranks it #1 of 54 outdoor activities in Lake Havasu City, with a 4.9 rating from about 1,356 reviews and a 2026 Travelers’ Choice award, and the visitor bureau notes it has won Travelers’ Choice 10 years in a row.

The Kon Tiki Canyon Cruiser is a covered, open-air pontoon that seats 18. It was built locally in the late 1980s as a water taxi, and the company bought it in 2011. The same company runs a daytime Copper Canyon tour, a lighthouse tour, a longer Sunset Experience and a Topock Gorge trip.

Booking a cruise from your RV park

The practical stuff we wished someone had told us before we pulled in.

Park in English Village

Set your GPS to 422 English Village for the free London Bridge English Village lot, then walk to the Ticket Booth at the foot of the London Bridge stairs. The company doesn’t say whether RVs or trailers fit the lot, so come in the tow vehicle.

Book ahead, check in early

Seats are limited, so book online, call (928) 716-8687 or stop at the Ticket Booth. Phone reservations need a credit card to hold the seat, and you should check in at least 15 minutes before departure.

Leave the dog at camp

Pets aren’t permitted on the boats; only ADA-recognized service animals are allowed. On warm days, don’t leave pets in a parked vehicle while you are out on the water.

Know the weather rules

Captains check the weather and lake conditions daily and may cancel when it isn’t safe; if no other departure works, you get a full refund. Cancel 24 or more hours ahead and you are refunded minus a 5% fee; later cancellations are charged in full.
